Hire me

I think writing and posting every day did something to me.

It was only a 7-day challenge, but it really gave me purpose and reminded my why I love writing and coming up with things to write about. It was an especially nice feeling since I’m semi-unemployed (part-time freelance writer, full-time job hunter), and it was a way for me to fill my time with work I enjoyed.

So I think I’m going to turn those 7-days into an ongoing challenge with myself. If I miss a day, no big deal; but especially since I have time now, I’d rather keep up with my practice than mope about my employment status.

Speaking of employment… Who’s hiring?

I’m looking for full-time or contract work, remote preferred (unless there’s a place in Asheville needing my services).

Types of writing I’m good at and enjoy:

  • Blog writing
  • Social media posts
  • Email (or print) newsletters
  • Article writing (print or online media)

Other things I do well:

  • Making complicated, technical, or pretentious material more relatable and easy to understand (communication skills)
  • Solve disagreements between Republicans and Democrats (interpersonal skills)
  • Catch your spelling errors and get rid of your misplaced commas (editing)
  • Convince people to give you money (grant writing, copywriting) and air your dirty laundry (press releases)
  • Get you listed on Google (SEO, SEM)
  • Make your profile pictures look better (basic photo and video edits, sample work below)
  • Figuring out what I don’t know (quick learner, creative, problem-solver)
  • Being a millennial (tech-savvy)
  • Latte art (office b*tch)

Slightly unconventional classified ad, initially made in jest… but hey, use whatever networks you’ve got. Otherwise, what good is the internet for?

Tomorrow I’ll have more traditional brain-dump content to share (unless one of ya’ll hook me up with a killer job opportunity before then ;] ). If anything, hopefully this makes someone else laugh and feel less bad about the job hunt blues.

Cheers to my other hopeful and hustling job seekers. At the very least, we don’t have to deal with Sunday Scaries right now.
